In a moment in history when fear and helplessness is abound, marginalized communities are under attack (as has been the case in perpetuity), and folks are losing access to supportive services left and right, I am more motivated than ever to support parents and caregivers in their efforts to meet their children’s needs. As an individual who often weaves in and out of the half-full and minimally full jar categories, I know the squeeze of scarcity that comes when I learn of an offering that I’d benefit from while the the expendable income isn’t available. In order to increase the financial accessibility of my caregiver/parent coaching and educational advocacy services, I’ve adopted a sliding scale model that I learned of while participating in ‘Monthly Decolonized Consultation’ sessions with Silvana at Decolonize Your Practice. When scheduling your appointments, please use the infographic (and/or image description below containing assessment factors) to self-assess and select a session fee that best matches your current financial circumstances. If your circumstances change, please adjust as needed by selecting the service with corresponding fee as needed.
The Green Bottle, model and image attributed to Alexis J. Cunningfolk. Y axis represents your current financial privilege and X axis represents your current financial experience. Three jars are depicted: left jar is filled with green; middle jar is half full; right jar is nearly empty. Each jar contains statements to reflect on in order to assist you in identifying your location of financial experience which is listed below.
I trust that you will use the provided resources to select a payment level commensurate with your self-assessment of your financial circumstances. If circumstances change, I ask that you self-select your pricing tier in accordance with those changes when using the self-scheduling platform. If we schedule an appointment during session together, I will ask which tier to select on your behalf and your request will be honored, no questions asked.

Bottom line- I’m committed to being of service as a form of resistance in this moment. The Green Bottle model is the best way I know how to make participation possible for as possible, while existing within the realities of a society that demands the exchange of compensation for survival. Until a day when community interdependence is the norm (if you haven’t read A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers in which the society functions using ‘gift economy,’ I highly recommend the quick read), or I win a lottery I don’t play, I will continue to operate on a fee-for-service basis. Please use the FAQ at the end of this page for more instructions on self-selecting your fee each time you self-schedule an appointment. If your financial situation changes at any time, you can always adjust your pricing tier for the next appointment you schedule.
Cancellations: With the semi-nomadic lifestyle I lead, I have learned to tailor business practices that are compatible with the nuance of travel. This means that while I will always be as flexible as possible with cancellations and re-scheduling, there are often expenses that are incurred in order to travel and be available for sessions. My cancellation policy honors the effort and expenses that are incurred in order for me to be available at the time of your appointment. Adhering to the cancellation policy allows adequate notice should I need to make a change in travel plans to accommodate your need for schedule change.
Green Bottle FAQ: Existing clients will sign into the portal and visit the appointments tab. You will then select the appointment length you'd like paired with the matching fee based on your self-assessment of the sliding scale above. Once you select the corresponding box for your choice, the calendar will appear below and you will be able to click on a day and time and then scroll to submit the request. Please take that moment to look at the time zone your appointment request is being made in. Time zones are supposed to default to the location of the device when the appointment is made.
